starting the healing process

Surgery was a success! Ally was in the OR for just about 2 hours. First Dr. Fay touched up her eye, and even used dissolvable stitches as I requested. Yeah!! That means we do not have to come back next Friday for removal, and that saves us money and hassle! After Dr. Fay was done Dr. Waner did pulse dye laser on all of Ally's remaining hemangioma s, and did CO2 laser of her chin scars.

Ally slept in the recovery room for about an hour after surgery, and then woke up with a vengeance! She was talkative, joking with the Drs., and being her usual self. After we left the hospital and came back to the apartment she started to slow down again. We ordered burritos from a place around the block with free delivery, and it was actually really good for NYC mexican food. Ally really enjoyed it!

We are all settling in for the night now, and Ally is having a little trouble learning to sleep on the other side of her face.... always a challenge. We are very thankful for a uneventful surgery day, and a healthy Ally! Thank you all for your prayers, well wishes, and calls!

Tomorrow we will see Dr. Waner in the morning for a check up. They said by then Ally's eye will be very swollen, but this is normal for surgery. After our visit we plan to head back up to Harrisburg and the snow. By Ally's request we will have to find a Taco Bell on the way....
