I know I have been very bad at keeping up the blog this trip, and I apologize to those I told that I would keep it updated!
So, here is a quick run down of our trip so far. We arrived early Sunday morning after a long red-eye flight. We came immediately to our apartment, and we were greeted by our good buddy Jimmy who runs the desk. He even remembered Ally after almost 3 years. He let us in to our apartment 3 hours early! What a great guy! We rested most of the afternoon. Then we spent the evening in Times Square shopping, eating at the Hard Rock, and getting Ally's make-up done at Sephora! Ally had a blast!
On Monday we went to Chinatown, Little Italy, the new World Trade Center site & museum, did a lot of walking, ate pizza, and had a great 20 minute conversation with a New Yorker! Jason's friend, Tim also came down from Philly to visit. It was a great day, and Ally had a lot of fun!
Yesterday, Tuesday, we slept in, and then headed to Central Park because Ally wanted to play. We went to this GREAT playground that during the summer turns into a waterpark full of little rivers, canals, and waterfalls. We had so much fun! Then we took a ride on the old carousel. That was very neat! During the afternoon we met with Dr. Waner and staff. Once again I was blown away by how wonderful they are!!! They gave us a very amazing gift, and we will be forever grateful! ( if you want to know what it is I will send you a private message) I also got to meet his parent advocate Sherri face to face after years of communicating. What a special treat! Dr. Waner is truly our angel on Earth, and I wish I could repay him somehow!
After seeing Dr. Waner yesterday we headed for the Empire State. What an amazing site! We went up to the observation deck on the 86th floor AND the deck on the 102nd floor. Gorgeous views of the city! Yes, I do think the city can be gorgeous! We later met up with another friend of Jason's who came down from Philly, Josh. We all went out to dinner, and spent the evening together. It was great to see him!
And, that brings us to today. Ally went in to the OR at 12pm. She had a VERY hard time this time. She was very scared, and upset once we started in. It took everything I had to hold it together in front of her! I pray this is the last big one she will have. She has now been in for 1 1/2 hours. Please pray for her, and for a quick recovery! Thank you!
More to come after surgery.....
