1 day post-op!

Today was pretty tough on us all!

It started with Ally waking up in pain. They didn't have her heavy duty pain killers until this afternoon, so she was miserable last night and this morning! I also did not get much sleep because I was too nervous about not watching her every move. I was afraid something might happen....like she might roll onto her incision, or roll off the bed. Even though she hasn't done that since she was 2!

We went to Dr. Waner's office in the morning for a check up. They said that everything is looking good! But, that she had a TON of surgery, so the discomfort was normal. Of course Ally did not like this!

Then when we got back to the apartment her lip started to bleed, and continued for the next 3 hours! At that point I got very nervous and called the doctor. Luckily it turned out that the Motrin had thinned her blood. We finally got the correct pain killer delivered, put ice on the lip for 5 minutes, and the bleeding finally stopped! And hasn't restarted.

That is when the next problem arose. Ally cannot sit up straight right now, and even when reclined in a very padded chair she is in pain! This is going to make it almost impossible to get her home riding in coach. Thats when we knew we would need to upgrade our tickets to first class. They have reclining seats, bigger more private bathrooms, and constant help from flight attendants. I knew it would be costly, but that it had to be done. So, I called the airline, and was promptly told that I had to contact price-line since that is who I booked the tickets through. I called price-line and they told me there was NO possible way to upgrade my tickets! Thats when I lost it, and demanded a supervisor. When the supervisor came on the phone he informed me there was no way to upgrade my tickets. Thats when I used a few choice words, lost my cool, and told him they would never get my business again! I slammed the phone down, and went in the room to cry where Ally couldn't see me. I was so worried about what the flight would do to her. Then my phone started ringing. On the line was a higher up supervisor from Price-line. Imagine my surprise!! Things like that never happen to me. The lady apologized to me, and told me she would make it possible to upgrade my seats I would just have to pay some fees plus the upgrade cost. So, $1200 later we now have our first class seats on both flights! Thank you God!! I was so happy! Although by that point my face was so red and puffy it was hard to tell :)

After that the rest of the day seemed to go pretty smoothly! We all took a nap in the afternoon, and watched movies and ate pizza for dinner. Now, we are all sitting together watching one of Ally's movies. This time with my daughter and my mother means the whole world to me!! I am so thankful for this time with them even though it is under tough circumstances!

I will share more with you all tomorrow! Much love from us all!

(For some reason I cannot post pictures right now. I will try tomorrow.)

She knows her mom will do anything to take care of her. You are one amazing mom. Hang in there. I can only imagine the strss and anxiety everyone is going through. I'll keep you all in my prayers!
