update: 2 months after surgery.

Ok, I am finally getting around to updating after we arrived home. :) I know, I know, it took me forever! We have been super busy here, and the kids keep me running from one place to the next. So, anything that requires more than a text message to reply to.....takes planning. Sorry to anyone who feels like I have been ignoring you....I promise I am not. :)

So, we had a rather eventful flight home from NYC for starters. We were late taking off from LaGaurdia, and ended up sitting on the runway through the worst thunder storm I have ever seen! It shook the plane so hard the Captain said to hold on we have "turbulence".( which lightened the mood) This ended up closing down the airport, so after 3 hours on the runway we returned to the gate. Where we were then refueled, and took off an hour later.

When we arrived in Minneapolis we had already missed our connection by 4 hours! By this time we should have already been in CA. Ally was sore, miserable, hungry, and tired. But, she kept her cool unlike me. When they told us that they could not get us on a flight until the next morning, and they would not give us a hotel due to weather being the culprit.(which was untrue. If we had taken off on-time from NYC we would have missed the storm!) I lost it, and threw quite the fit at the ticket gate. Next thing we knew we were sitting first class on the next flight home. Once again we took off during a huge lighting storm. This time we weren't delayed, and the view was amazing!

We arrived home, and my mom stayed an extra week to spend time with us and help out with the kids. It was so great to have her! Ally healed well, and without complications. We were able to get her stitches out in town instead of driving to Palo Alto this time. That was a nice break!

In July Ally started cheer-leading. She loves it, and is doing great! The first month was 5 days a week practice, and then it went down to 3 days a week when school started. We have now had 3 games, and are getting ready for competition in October. Ally is also still involved in Girl Scouts, and is enjoying her year so far as a 6th grader. She has also been very helpful in the garden this year and is learning a lot. Maybe she also has the family green thumb?

We are now preparing for our conference down in Irvine this November with Dr. Waner. We are excited to see him on the West coast for once.(no long flights!) We have a free room at a hotel in Newport by the beach, so Ally is stoked about that. Dr. Waner invited us to the conference so he could personally introduce us to Dr. Nelson. A wonderful doctor who might be taking over for Ally's lasers. It will be nice to have someone out West to see. Although we will miss Dr. Waner and staff to pieces!

Well, I guess that is all for now. More to come soon! My love to all! :)
